CINEMATOGRAPHY
BA (HONS) MEDIA PRODUCTION
This page highlights the various video projects I have contributed to during my time at university. Whether I was the primary shooter, assisting with the filming process, or playing a key role in coordinating the production, I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of creative projects. From conceptualization to the final cut, I have worked closely with talented teams to bring each project to life. Each experience has allowed me to develop my skills in video production, storytelling, and collaboration, resulting in a diverse portfolio that showcases my growth and passion for the craft.
WORKING FROM HOME
PREMIERE PRO
This Piece was my first assignment at University. Our task was to create a film which covered all the basic filmmaking techniques that needed to be used and observed like close ups, long shots, natural light and artificial light. The the task was simple, I’m very happy with how this film turned and proud of the shots I was able to capture
‘SISYPHUS’
By Jared Kingsland
DAVINCI / PREMIERE PRO
This was my first solo project at University during our Second Year. We where tasked with making a documentary on any subject that interested you and in any style of documentary filmmaking i.e ‘fly on the wall or ‘talking head’. I chose to create a poetic mode of documentary which prioritises subjective interpretation and mood creation over traditional narrative and exposition. The subject of the documentary is the repetitiveness and mundanity of working life, how it feels like an endless cycle with no end. I filmed the endless flow of workers in London to emphasis this point though it should be pointed out that this documentary is not aime
RATMAN (TRAILER)
PREMIERE PRO
This project was created as part of an assignment to create a crowdfund video and pitch. we where tasked to make a realistic collection of elemets that would be used in a real pitch to a production company. This included budget sheets, shoot locations, crew numbers and cots for equipment, crew, travel etc. We then also created a Crowd fund video which included elements like a street interview and this trailer.
May Day Bike Run
On May 6th 2024 I joined a small team of fellow University students to film shots of the May Day Bike show in Hastings for a documentary called Bikers England being produced by Manuel Nashi and Directed by Pete Rogers. This new documentary has a wider scope to incorporate the subculture of ‘biker’, and examines a greater latitude with a ‘brand/label’ that is misunderstood.
The characters in the documentary are prominent key figures across the UK, and their influence is wide felt. We follow their journey and explore the music culture, people and vernacular across a wider demographic in order to understand the ‘label’ of a community of people that come together with common interests and share in their personal stories and insights into this fascinating culture.
I spent my day taking B-Roll of the event, conducting interviews and collecting audio samples. To learn more about Rockers London you can find there website here: https://rockerslondon.com/
Below you can watch a short clip of our shots which we edited together as the documentary is still in the production phase.
